Moon° / 13.3333 gives 27 Nakshatras (asterims) of the Zodiac's 360°. The Panchang gives ending moments in IST when Moon reaches exact degree end of each asterim.

Most of the Dasha systems use Moon's degree. Vimshottari Dasha system which is most popular uses Moon's degree to arrive at balance dasha.  Each nakshatra has a lord and other attributes.
